Position Overview
The Human Resources and Recruiting Representative is a brand-new position in the company and will play a key role in identifying, attracting, and hiring exceptional individuals who align with our values and contribute to our overall success. This person will also provide support and guidance on various HR-related matters. This role requires a customer-focused individual with strong interpersonal skills; attention to detail; a passion for enhancing the overall employee experience; a proven track record in full-cycle recruiting; talent acquisition; record keeping; compliance; and relationship management.
This is a hybrid position that will require travel to regional colleges and universities as well as recruiting events and meetings in our Mokena and Calumet City offices two to three days per week depending on Company needs.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Recruitment:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, from job requisition creation to candidate onboarding.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates to assess their qualifications, skills, and cultural fit.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
Talent Acquisition:
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future job openings.
- Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and recruitment best practices to enhance talent acquisition efforts.
- Represent the company at job fairs, industry events, and other recruitment-related activities.
Candidate Experience:
- Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Communicate effectively with candidates, providing timely updates and feedback.
- Coordinate interviews, assessments, and other recruitment-related activities.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Develop a system (within assigned budget) of ATS and HR databases to support company growth.
Employee Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in resolving employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances in a fair and consistent manner.
- Conduct investigations when necessary and recommend appropriate actions.
Benefits Administration:
- Support employees in understanding and accessing company benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Facilitate benefits enrollment processes and address employee inquiries related to benefits programs.
Onboarding and Offboarding:
- Coordinate new employee orientations and assist in the onboarding process.
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure a smooth offboarding process for departing employees.
HR Documentation and Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of HR reports and analytics as needed.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Track Continuing Professional Education (CPE) classes and certificates so the firm is in compliance with industry standards and laws.
- Stay informed about changes in labor laws and HR best practices.
Employee Engagement:
- Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, such as organizing events and activities.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to implement programs that enhance the overall employee experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Two years of proven experience in HR and recruitment.
- Strong understanding of recruitment processes, benefits administrations, and human resources best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
