Key Responsibilities:

John Kasperek Co., Inc. seeks an energetic Manager to work in a fast-paced, agile environment. The Manager will have the highest technical knowledge and will contribute to quality control in audit, accounting and consulting engagements. The Manager will serve as the lead on engagements and requires minimal supervision. The Manager will handle the most complex assignments of the firm and will complete work that requires little or no revision.

Managers must have a minimum 7 consecutive years of experience working on governmental audits and consulting engagements and will perform the following duties:

  • Lead staff on all engagements while providing mentorship and tutelage
  • Serve as key point of contact for client engagement and maintain a keen understanding of potential issues to proactively mitigate problems and areas of concern
  • Actively build relationships with clients while identifying areas for expanded services
  • Responsible for all engagement management on clients including fee quoting, engagement planning, staffing, preparing engagement letters, billing and collection
  • Effectively supervise multiple engagements at the same time
  • Implement and teach JJKCPA’s audit approach
  • Foster a healthy team environment and knowledge-sharing culture
  • Actively participate in practice development
  • Enjoy a high level of credibility with firm partners and staff
  • Contribute to firm continuing professional education internal training programs
  • Actively document and provide timely feedback related to staff job performance
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities for staff
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
  • Actively recruit new clients and participate in key conferences and client/prospect events
  • Participate in staff recruitment strategy and new hire interviews and assessments
  • Contribute significantly to firm growth and efficiency

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with financial statement audits
  • Technical expert knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and GASB regulations
  • A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accounting licensure
